Zev Sebastian, born 2008 in Providence, RI (USA), moved to London in 2012 with his family and studied piano at Junior Guildhall from 2019-22. He gained his ATCL diploma in classical piano at 12 and is currently studying with Tessa Nicholson at the Purcell School for Young Musicians.
In 2022, he made his solo debut at the 1901 Arts Club in London at the age of 13 and was invited by Lady Isabella and Sir Philip Naylor-Leyland the following year, 2023, to play a solo recital at Milton Hall in support of United24 for Ukraine, raising a total of £13,580.
This year (2024), he enjoyed the unique opportunity to perform a solo recital on the 1820 Girikowsky fortepiano at Restoration House in Rochester, his first concert on a period instrument. He also made his concerto debut with Beethoven’s piano concerto no 1 with the Purcell Sinfonia Orchestra which he is excited to play at his international debut with the Sinfonieorchester Opus 125 in Mönchengladbach with Javier Alvarez Fuentes conducting.
Zev holds a scholarship under the UK’s Government’s Music and Dance Scheme at The Purcell School. He is further supported by Piano Restorations Ltd who raised funds and rebuilt him a 1920s Steinway model O grand piano.
